Two head cnc router is the machine which has two heads on the gantry. Here we call two heads, not two spindles, because this machine usually has two X axes and two Z axes. As you know, single head cnc router basic machine has one X axis and one Z axis. Two head cnc router has one more machine head than one head router machine; one machine head means one X axis and one Z axis. So, two head cnc router machine totally have two X axes and two Z axes. But the two heads are mounted on same Y axis, so the two heads have to work together with the same tool path and same cutter tools. Its machining effect is to complete the cutting or engraving jobs of two pieces at one time. In other words, two heads machine can do copy works. Benefit is that you get two pieces at one time. So it increases the production efficiency. But when you need to change the cutter tools, you have to change the tools by hand. Two heads machine is ideal for production jobs which is not need to change tools frequently but need finish large quantity in same time.

Two spindle pneumatic tool changer cnc router is the machine which has two spindles on one machine head and the two spindles can be switched orderly through the cylinder on them. Two spindle pneumatic tool changer machine can be mounted with two different types of router bits; and the two spindles can be automatically switched by the cylinder during machining. Suppose two different router bits are called tool number 1 and tool number 2; tool number 1 is mounted on spindle number 1 and tool number 2 is mounted on spindle number 2. When we need tool number 1 work, the spindle number 1 is push down to work by cylinder automatically and spindle number 2 rises back automatically. Of course, all the setup of spindle shift action is written in the file in advance. Its machining way is same like auto tool change, so this type machine is called pneumatic tool changing cnc router. Benefit is that the tools are changed automatically; no have the trouble of changing tool by hand; reducing times of machine stop during working process; improving the production efficiency and machining accuracy. Similarly, three-spindle pneumatic tool changer machine means you can change 3 different router bits during machining; and four-spindle machine means you can change 4 tools.
