How to Hook Up RITUO HL3000 VFD Spindle Drive On CNC Router | CNC Tutorials
Our technical support team often receive enquiry from friends telling us he doesn't know how to connect a Rituo HL3000 inverter for his wood router cnc machine and hope we can guide him to do so. So we write this post here, and hope it is helpful for you.
Please click here for ordering brand new Rituo HL3000 inverter.
The post applies to Rituo brand spindle drive (VFD inverter) HL3000 series includes models like: HL3000-2015-T, HL3000-2022-T, HL3000-2037-T, HL3000-2040-T, HL3000-4015-T, HL3000-4022-T, HL3000-4037-T, HL3000-4040-T, HL3000-4055-T, HL3000-4075-T
First, let’s look at how the main circuit is (inverter to spindle) hook up.
As shown in the circuit diagram above, R、S、T are AC power input terminals. U、V、W are for electric spindle connection.
R,S,T – should hook up with the main input power wire L1, L2, L3 (3 phase input model)
R, T– should connect with the main input power wire L, N (single phase model)
U,V,W – should connect to the cnc router spindle terminal
You see, the wiring of the main circuit is easy to understand.
Second, let’s look at how the control circuit is wired. Control loop refers to the connection between Rituo inverter control terminal and cnc control system. This part is a little harder than main circuit. Most important, the connection is different according to different cnc controllers. Because there are too many different cnc controllers and we can not write all them here, let's take the RichAuto DSP A11 and Weihong NC Studio as example to discuss.
RichAuto AutoNow DSP A11 and Rituo Inverter wiring:
From above wring diagram, we can see that, J7 terminal on RichAuto wiring board needs to be connected with the rituo inverter control terminal. Details below:
Y1 on RichAuto board goes to X1 on Rituo VFD
Y2 on RichAuto board goes to X5 on Rituo VFD (X5 is multi-speed phase 1)
Y3 on RichAuto board goes to X6 on Rituo VFD (X6 is multi-speed phase 2)
Y4 on RichAuto board goes to X7 on Rituo VFD (X7 is multi-speed phase 3)
GND on RichAuto board goes to COM on Rituo VFD (COM is common port)
Important reminder: to use multi-speed function, we need to set up parameter item “P110” with value of “2”.
WEIHONG NC Studio and Rituo inverter wiring:
One point, different with RichAuto, WEIHONG NC studio uses analog quantity to control the speed of spindle, instead of multi-speed control. Details below:
Old version weihong 53c nc studio
SVC on WEIHONG NC studio board goes to FV on Rituo VFD
GND on WEIHONG NC studio board goes to COM on Rituo VFD
Two ports of SPIN on WEIHONG NC studio, one goes to X1 on Rituo VFD, the other goes to COM on Rituo VFD.
Update version weihong 95a nc studio
AVC on WEIHONG NC studio board goes to FV on Rituo VFD
GND on WEIHONG NC studio board goes to COM on Rituo VFD
C00 on WEIHONG board goes to COM on Rituo VFD.
Y00 on WEIHONG board goes to X1 on Rituo VFD
Reminder: there is no need to do multi-speed wiring for WEIHONG NC studio, as it is using analog voltage frequency instruction to control the speed of spindle motor.
