Spiral downcut router bit is one type of spiral router bits which eliminate chipping from down side. The downwards cutting action of down cut bit leaves a very good finishing near the slots it cuts. But the debris is removed from the hole, the downcut router bits is far less efficient in this respect than is an upcut bit. It is good for cutting on materials like MDF, Multilayer board, Plywood.
Features:
1. It leaves very clean finishing on the edge it cuts.
2. Downcut spiral router bit is less efficient in respect of chipping removing. Due to this reason, it requires a slower feeding speed. This reduced rate gives the router bit a little more time to thrown the debris out.
3. It is ideal for cutting shallow groove and dados.
Using Tips:
1. Deep cut can cause the downcut spiral bit over heat and even broken.
2. Buildup of debris can cause the bit over head and even break.
