Delta is a famous brand of cnc router converter (variable frequency drive). As a main electronic component of cnc router, Delta converter is used to control the rotating speed (RPM) of cnc router spindle motor. In order to make the electric spindle motor work normally, it is necessary for us to set up the parameters of the converter properly. This article talks about the parameter settings tutorials of the Delta converter on cnc router machines. (Model. VFD-E series)

Below are the items we need do settings for Delta converter VFD-E models which are mounted on cnc router machine.

User Parameters

1). Parameter 00.02 (Parameter Reset of Delta converter)

Settings range:

0: parameter can be read/written

1: all parameters are read only

6: clear PLC program

8: keypad lock

9: all parameters are reset to factory settings(50Hz, 230V/400V or 220V/380V depends on Pr.00.12)

10: all parameters are reset to factory settings (60Hz, 220V/440V)

Factory setting value: 0

Proper setting value for cnc router: 9

2). Parameter 00.03 (Start-up Display Selection of Delta converter)

Settings range:

0: display the frequency command value (F)

1: display the actual output frequency (H)

2: display the current (A)

3: multifunction display (U)

4: FWD/REV command

5: PLC status

Factory setting value: 0

Proper setting value for cnc router: 1

3). Parameter 00.10 (Control Method of Delta converter)

Settings range:

0: V/f control

1: Vector control

Factory setting value: 0

Proper setting value for cnc router: 1

Basic Parameters

4). Parameter 01.00 (Maximum Output Frequency of Electric Spindle Motor)

Settings range: 50.00 to 600.00Hz

Factory setting value: 60.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: this parameter should be setting up according to the maximum frequency of the electric spindle motor on your cnc router machine. Please check the nameplate of your spindle motor, if there wrote 300Hz, then set up it 300Hz; if 400Hz, then set up 400Hz here.

5). Parameter 01.01 (Rated Frequency of Electric Spindle Motor)

Settings range: 0.10 to 600.00Hz

Factory setting value: 60.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: this parameter should be setting up according to the rated frequency of the electric spindle motor on your cnc router machine. Please check the nameplate of your spindle motor, if there wrote 300Hz, then set up it 300Hz; if 400Hz, then set up 400Hz here.

6). Parameter 01.02 (Rated Voltage of Electric Spindle Motor)

Settings range:

115V/230V series: 0.1V to 255.0V

460V series: 0.1V to 510.0V

Factory setting value:

220V

440V

Proper setting value for cnc router: this parameter should be setting up according to the rated voltage of the electric spindle motor on your cnc router machine. Please check the nameplate of your spindle motor, if there wrote 380V, then set up it 380; if 220V, then set up 220 here; other values are the same.

7). Parameter 01.07 (Output Frequency Upper Limit of Delta converter)

Settings range: 0.1 to 120.0%

Factory setting value: 110

Proper setting value for cnc router: 100

8). Parameter 01.09 (Accel Time 1)

Settings range: 0.1 to 600.0 sec

Factory setting value: 10.0

Proper setting value for cnc router: 10.0 to 20.0 sec as per your request

9). Parameter 01.10 (Decel Time 1)

Settings range: 0.1 to 600.0 sec

Factory setting value: 10.0

Proper setting value for cnc router: 10.0 to 20.0 sec as per your request

Multi-Step Speeds Parameters (Taking 300Hz electric spindle motor as example, if your spindle is not 300Hz, contact us for the setting tutorials)

10). Parameter 05.00 (1^st Step Speed Frequency of Delta Converter)

Settings range: 0.00 to 600.0Hz

Factory setting value: 0.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: 100

11). Parameter 05.01 (2nd Step Speed Frequency of Delta Converter)

Settings range: 0.00 to 600.0Hz

Factory setting value: 0.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: 130

12). Parameter 05.02 (3rd Step Speed Frequency of Delta Converter)

Settings range: 0.00 to 600.0Hz

Factory setting value: 0.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: 160

13). Parameter 05.03 (4th Step Speed Frequency of Delta Converter)

Settings range: 0.00 to 600.0Hz

Factory setting value: 0.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: 200

14). Parameter 05.04 (5th Step Speed Frequency of Delta Converter)

Settings range: 0.00 to 600.0Hz

Factory setting value: 0.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: 230

15). Parameter 05.05 (6th Step Speed Frequency of Delta Converter)

Settings range: 0.00 to 600.0Hz

Factory setting value: 0.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: 260

16). Parameter 05.06 (7th Step Speed Frequency of Delta Converter)

Settings range: 0.00 to 600.0Hz

Factory setting value: 0.00

Proper setting value for cnc router: 300

Except the 16 parameters here, for the other parameters of Delta converter, please just keep their factory settings no change.
